First Impressions: Essence and L’oreal Makeup

First Impressions Essence

Hey guys! It feels like it’s been awhile since my last post and I apologize for that :(! I’ve been lacking in the inspiration department but I’m back and in this post, I’ll be testing out a few makeup products. I based today’s look around the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter which is a gorgeous warm gold highlight. Find out more below!

So lets start with the inspiration for this post, the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight *. What I loved most about this highlighter was how natural it looked and felt on my skin. If you’re like me and don’t normally wear highlight or prefer a highlighter that appears almost skin-like then this is the ‘one’! It blended out perfectly onto my skin whilst giving the most beautiful golden sheen. I applied it over my brow bone, cheeks, eyelids, the tip of my nose, and the inner corner of my eyes. LOL… clearly, I got a little carried away.

The second product that I tested out was the L’oreal La Palette Nude 1. The L’oreal La Palette Nude 1 includes 10 large eye shadows, both mattes and shimmers. The colours are all great but the pigmentation isn’t quite there. However, for the price, the amount of product you’re getting, the brush and mirror included, I would have to say it’s still worth it. I think this would be a great beginner’s eye shadow palette because the product is build-able meaning that mistakes can easily be avoided.

The last product I tested out was Essence’s Matte Liquid Ink Eyeliner *. This is a great eye liner for an awesome price. My only concern is that it can be a little trickier to apply because the tip is quite long. I usually prefer a shorter eyeliner tip as it allows me to have better control over the application. Other than that, the finish is beautiful and it doesn’t smear, smudge or chip off during the day.

To finish the look, I stayed within the drugstore makeup theme and used Maybelline’s Big Eyes Falsies Mascara. This is a dual ended mascara with one end for lower lashes and one for upper lashes. I prefer the lower end but overall, great mascara!
