Testing Clinique Make-Up (Chubby Stick, High Impact Mascara ++)

clinique review

To tell you the truth, I haven’t tried many Clinique products. It’s not that I don’t want to but I tend to gravitate towards other brands first. When I received the opportunity to test and play around with a few of their other products from both their make-up and skin care range, I was all for it! I love testing out new products and especially now with my blog, it’s become so much more fun being able to share my thoughts on these items. For today’s post, I have a little bit of everything from lip products to an eye-lash curler! Will they meet up to my expectations? Let’s find out!

Clinique Make-Up Review

Clinique Eyelash Curler

First up, Clinique’s eye-lash curler! Eye-lash curlers are a must in my daily routine, therefore, a good eye-lash curler is always welcome. However, I’ll admit, I haven’t strayed away from my Shu Uemura and after trying out the Clinique eye-lash curler, it’ll stay that way. Although the Clinique eye-lash curler does what it’s supposed to, it doesn’t quite give me the curl and hold that the Shu Uemura does. The mobility of the device is also weird. I find it hard to press down on my lashes as the curler itself is very stiff. Perhaps, with more use the stiffness will decrease? But for now, I’d pass on this product.

Clinique Blushing Blush

Next, Clinique’s Blushing Blush in Innocent Peach! I love blush! For a long time, I resented the idea of blush because my cheeks are naturally very pink/red and I never liked the look of it but now that I’m older, I’m grateful to have this trait. So blush comes in handy whenever I wear foundation. This blush in particular is gorgeous! I’m a big fan of peach blushes especially for the warmer months. This one in particular is mostly matte but there are a few flecks of gold that peek through when worn.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Now for Clinique’s High Impact Mascara! I believe this is Clinique’s best selling mascara and I’m not surprised! It’s a great, natural mascara which was surprising for me as I thought it would create a more dramatic lash due to it’s thick wand. Nonetheless, I very much enjoyed this mascara and will continue to use it until it dries out. Bonus: no fall out and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes!

Clinique Chubby Stick

Last but certainly not least, Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry and Clinique’s Long Last Lipstick in Blushing Nude. At first glance, both colours are gorgeous and seem to flatter any skin tone. The chubby stick is a beautiful tinted lip balm and very moisturizing. The lipstick almost had a similar feel on the lips as the chubby stick but I expected more pigmentation and stronger staying power.

Final Thoughts

Clinique Make-Up

Clinique seems to be a great well-rounded brand with a wide variety of products. I’ve definitely added a couple to my favourites list (Chubby Stick and Blush) and will most likely purchase again in the near future. Would I recommend? Yes, but I don’t believe all of the products (ie. Long last lipstick) are worth the cost.
