Miss Universe 2017 Evening Gowns || Favourites

miss universe

I love pageants! I know that they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but I believe there are aspects to them that are admirable and positive for our community. The Miss Universe competition in particular has a strong focus on finding a person that is kind-hearted, strong, caring and passionate about doing something good for our world. Some of the competitors work in the STEM field, others are business owners, some are aspiring athletes and all advocate for equality, peace and human rights. When one wins the title of Miss Universe, they are able to use this platform to help others.

Every year, my mom, sister and I watch the competition in hopes to seeing our country excel to the next round. This year, I thought I’d share some of my favourite gowns of the night and a few personal favourite contestants based off their interviews. If you want to see my picks, check out the rest of this post!

I couldn’t make this post without including Miss Universe 2016 (France) gown. My absolute favourite dress that has ever made it on the MU stage!

The following dresses are from the preliminary stage.

Blushed nudes and golds – my favourite colour scheme! For me, Miss Austria and Miss Haiti stole the preliminary round with these gowns. Stunning.

How elegant and glamorous does Miss Albania, Miss Peru and Miss Philippines look!

Which one was your favourite?

Now, time for my favourite interviews! The interviews and of course, the evening gowns and final answers are my favourite part of the competition. Interviews allow us to get to know the contestants more. These were the interviews that stood out the most for me!
