Lord and Taylor Matte Lip Kit || Lip Swatches!!

Lord and Taylor

My mom picked up a few Lord and Taylor make-up sets to gift this Christmas and in the mix, was this little package for my sis! Luckily, my sister was able to open it up early which meant that I could review it on my blog! I have to say though, I’m not very familiar with Lord and Taylor make-up but from first glance, this kit looks pretty good. The kit features three liquid lipsticks, a mauve, red and peach-y ‘nude’ along with their matching lip liners. If you want to see how they perform, check out the rest of this post!

Unfortunately, none of the colours have names but I organized the pictures by lip liner and their accompanying  lipstick.

Lord and Taylor Matte Lip Liner

First up, my favourite lip liner from the kit! I was surprised at how creamy and opaque this was. Great formula and even better colour! Can’t wait to wear it out 🙂

Lord and Taylor Liquid Lipstick

Matching Liquid Lipstick – No complaints for this shade! Easy to apply, dried quickly and wasn’t painfully matte! If you prefer this shade, the lip liner is not necessary to get a clean look. Side Note: the shade is lighter on the lips than in the packaging.

Lip Liner – Creamy but harder to apply as an all over colour on the lips. Goes well with the liquid lipstick but I actually think the matching liquid lipstick applies just as well without the lip liner!

Lord and Taylor Liquid Lipstick

Matching Liquid Lipstick – I would say this is a true red whereas the matching lip liner has a faint fuchsia tone. The liquid lipstick looks great alone and was easy to apply. It also lasted relatively well on the lips throughout the day.

Lip Liner – Opaque and creamy. This colour in particular reminds me of Stila’s Liquid Lipstick in ‘Baci’!

Matching Liquid Lipstick – Out of all the colours, this liquid lipstick was the closest match to their lip liner (on the lips). I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality of these lip products. Again, this liquid lipstick was easy to apply and wasn’t painful on the lips.

Overall, I enjoyed the colour and wear of these lip products. I wouldn’t say that they are the most long lasting lipsticks but they are opaque, user-friendly and a great gift to give (and receive!). Would I recommend? Yes!

Have you tried any Lord and Taylor make-up? Let me know!

See you in my next post!

P.S This gift set retails for $20 CAD but they were on sale for $10 at The Bay. Not bad 🙂
