I haven’t been able to blog much due to personal reasons, however, I plan to get back to it and hopefully create a better blogging schedule. Being a part of an awesome community of bloggers has been so inspiring but has also made me feel so undeserving because I totally suck at blogging. My goal is to create more time and stop overthinking the posts I’ve written or photos I’ve taken. I hope by sharing this I can speak my blog goals into existence!
Anyway, enough rambling let’s get into the fun stuff..the Met Gala! This year’s theme, “Heavenly bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” was as the name suggests, inspired by religious imagery and art. Guests are encouraged (but not expected) to dress in the theme which is what makes the event so exciting and fun to keep up with (especially if you love fashion). If you’d like to see who made it into my favourites, check out the rest of this post!
Met Gala 2018 Favourites
Amanda Seyfried in Prada. BEST. LOOK. OF. THE. NIGHT. (Don’t @ me lol) From the hair/crown to the makeup and gown, this is one of my favourite looks ever.
Kate Bosworth in Oscar De La Renta. Fun Fact: She wore an Oscar De La Renta gown for her wedding which she took as inspiration for this look. I don’t think this was a popular gown on the carpet but I personally thought it was stunning. My favourite part, the veil 😍!
Chadwick Boseman in Versace. This is the second time I’ve included Chadwick Boseman in a fashion favourites and this is exactly why, he isn’t afraid to take risks! This suit embodies the theme while maintaining his own personal style.
Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren. From the intricate bead work to the embroided details, this stunning gown was completely handcrafted. She said in an interview that not only was the gown inspired by the Catholic theme but her own Indian heritage.
Rihanna in Maison Margiela. Is it really a Met Gala Fashion favourites without Rihanna? I don’t think so. Rihanna is known for her elaborate and unique outfits especially at the Met Gala. Always on theme, she never disappoints.
Blake Lively in Versace. How could I not include this gorgeous gown?!! Her clutch was also customized with her husband’s and children’s initials in the shape of a cross which was a very sweet and personal touch.
From L to R: Jourdan Dunn, Kim Kardashian, Anya Taylor Joy and Zendaya.
Who was your favourite? Let me know in the comments!
Stay tuned for my favourite makeup looks of the night!
